If we have to stay home, we should at least have yummy drinks! My whole family did a zoom “wine tasting” yesterday and it was the best. We were supposed to be wine tasting last weekend for my Aunts birthday, so we used Zoom to chat and catch up on life during a pandemic. So thankful for technology that can keep us feeling close!
Today, I spent the afternoon perfecting my spicy grapefruit margaritas. I’m giving this batch an 8!

The Recipe
Ingredients (makes one drink)
- 2 oz tequila
- 1 oz orange liqueur
- 1 cup grapefruit, hulled (about half of one grapefruit)
- 1 jalapeño, sliced into 1/8” thick pieces
- Juice of 1/2 a lime
- Squeeze of honey (optional)
- Tajin for rim
Directions:
Blend the grapefruit, lime juice, tequila, and orange liqueur in a blender. Blend until combined, but grapefruit is still thick.
Use a lime to moisten the rim of your glass. Dip glass onto a plate of tajin to coat the rim. Add crushed or pebble ice and pour mixture into glass. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit and jalapeño slices.
If you’re feeling extra daring, go ahead and blend the jalapeño in with the grapefruit. Don’t get me wrong, I love some good spice, but I wasn’t feeling it this time, so I opted just to top my margarita with jalapeño slices. And trust me, that spiciness still seeps through.

Enjoy a few glasses of this yummy drink! Cheers!!
