When I feel like I need a day to get away, clear my heads and relax, I go to SLO. No joke, I’ve probably been to SLO ten times in the past year. So if you live in CA and need a day away, call your boss, take the day and map yourself to San Luis Obispo to visit my favorites.
Fave Shop – Ah Louis Store
We LOVE all the pretty things, especially when they are for a party or celebration. The Ah Louis Store is owned by twin sisters who are UH-MAZING event planners. So they know how to throw a party. We go to the Ah Louis Store even when we aren’t hosting a party because INSPO & CUTE PRODUCTS, obviously.
Fave Nail Salon – Happy Nails
If you don’t already know this, I love getting my nails and toes done. If I want the ultimate relax day while I’m there I visit this gem of a salon. The atmosphere was relaxing, the service amazing and they offered us SmartWater…so they won us over in an instant.
Fave Breakfast – Seeds
If you love avocado toast, aćai bowls or frozés then you will LOVE seeds. I stumbled across this cute spot while wandering downtown SLO and immediately fell in love. It was hard to choose what to have so between the two us we basically had one of everything.
Fave Lunch – Taste
I was in SLO one day trying to find someplace for lunch and so I asked my friends on Insta what their recommendations where. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT. When four different people responded and said go to Taste, I knew I had to try it. The vibe is very chill and they have this mix and match menu with all sorts of goodies. Always get the Mac & Cheese – you can choose your cheese and your toppings. Also, the burgers and the salmon salad. YUM.
Fave Dinner – Taste
SEE ABOVE. I can’t tell you enough how much I love this place.
Fave Cocktails – Sidecar
The best hand crafted cocktails this side of New York. The Farmer’s Daughter was hands a favorite – gin, cucumber, lime and honey! You won’t want to miss this spot for a little yummy adult beverage.
Fave Dessert – Batch
Did someone say handmade, old fashioned ice cream?! Be right there! Batch is a tiny BUT DELICIOUS ice cream shop in SLO that I visit every time I go, because who doesn’t love a treat?! One time I had this dairy free cookies & cream ice cream in a waffle cone and now… I may or may not call ahead to see if they have it in stock. So there’s that.
Have you been to the Central Coast? Any spots I should stop at next?
