Welcome to the wedding day timeline! I’m a firm believer that being organized on a wedding day is extremely important. Wedding days can be quite stressful and chaotic, so it’s always my goal to be as prepared as I possibly can be before I even show up to photograph it! One of the ways I achieve that is with working with my couples to develop a timeline for their big day. I typically build the timeline based on my Wedding Day Questionnaire I send my couples about a month prior to the wedding or I will build it from anything the wedding planner sends me, too.My timeline keeps not only me on track, but the entire wedding party (98% of the time!)
11:45 AM Photographers arrive | Photographer arrives, says hello, gives hugs, walks venue.
12:00 PM Photograph Details (30 minutes) | DETAILS: Dress, shoes, bridesmaid dresses, rings, flowers, invitations, keepsakes. Detail shots are so important, you’ve spent months maybe even years finding the perfect dress. Your ring is at it’s more brilliance, your flowers are fresh, your jewelry, garter, shoes are exquisite. It takes time and special lenses and lighting to style and photograph the finer details.
12:30 PM Bridesmaids get dressed (15 min.) | It is important that all your bridesmaids are dressed and ready before they help you get into your wedding dress.
12:45 PM Bride puts on dress (3o min) | This is a major milestone of the morning. I like to place the bride in front of a window of possible so she is in the best light.
1:30 PM Bridal Portraits | Make sure to have your bouquet at this time for your bridal portraits.
1:45 PM Bride with Bridesmaids portraits | This is a little extra window to grab some shots with you and each of your bridesmaids as well as all of you together! Your hair and make up is fresh and you get to giggle with your ladies before you see your man!
2:00 PM Bride and Groom First Look | Location TBD by photographers once we walk the venue. We will pick the best light to capture this special moment.
2:30 PM Bridal Party Portraits
3:00 PM Immediate and Extended Family Formal Portraits | Provide a detailed list of all the family groupings you with to have photographed.
4:00 PM Bride and Groom in hiding | This is a great time to freshen up and take a bathroom break before the ceremony
4:30 PM Ceremony | Unplugged ceremony. Guests are asked to put their phones and cameras away and be present during the ceremony.
5:00 PM Bride and Groom Portraits | I usually sneak you away for some sunset portraits. Depending on the time of year and sunset time.
5:00 PM Cocktail Hour | Photographers will capture candids of guests.
5:45 PM Reception Entrance | Bridal party, bride and groom enter reception.
6:00 PM Dinner (1 hour) | A 30 min. break is taken during dinner in order to rejuvenate and recharge to be at our best to capture your reception. The photographer(s) will sit down to eat as soon as you do in order to be present when the traditions begin.
7:00 PM Toasts | Speeches & toasts.
7:30 PM Special Dances | Bride/Father and Groom/Mother
7:45 PM Dancing | Candids of guests and couple dancing under the lights.
8:00 PM Photographer says goodbye, gives best wishes to Bride & Groom and thanks the parents.
