We all know Instagram is huge social platform. It’s a no-brainer that you would want your business to use Instagram. However, when you are first starting out you may not know how to use this platform effectively. You may be wondering why you aren’t growing on Instagram and how you can increase your engagement. Many start-ups are growing their brand through Instagram and succeeding by knowing what to focus on and being consistent!
Check out 8 ways that we have found to be crucial in growing your Instagram business authentically and effectively!
Build an authentic connection with your followers. By interacting, replying to comments, and starting real conversations it will make for an inviting experience that more people will want to be apart of.
When running a biz, you often are using many platforms like a blog, newsletter, or YouTube channel to create content. Always remember to share your content from each channel across all social media platforms. Not only will this give you more content to share, but it will help distribute your followers across the various channels so all of your eggs aren’t in on basket. Share about blog posts, email newsletter, behind-the-scene camera roll photos/videos, or anything related to you and your brand!
Geotagging your posts can help you to reach more people locally. By tagging where you are in your Instagram posts, users searching by location will be able to see what you posted in that area. This is especially useful for brick and mortar stores or local service-based businesses. The more ways for people to come across your page, the better!
Look at your analytics! As an Instagram Business Account, you are able to see your weekly analytics. Understanding and paying attention to these insights will help you know who your followers are and what they are more likely to engage with on your profile.
When you are starting any business, it is important to know who your target customer is, your brand tone, and what you want to GIVE to your followers. Having a clear brand identity will attract and engage real followers that are genuinely interested in your type of brand. Always remember to provide value to your followers!
Posting consistently is a big factor in increasing engagement. If you are showing up on your followers’ feeds everyday, they are more likely to
remember you and engage with your account. Also, remember to post about the same type of content, so your audience can recognize your photos before they even see your handle attached to it. Using scheduling tools such

Do your #hashtagresearch. Knowing your brand niche goes hand in hand with this. Come up with a collection of hashtags that relate to your brand and the types of things you post about on Instagram. When you search a hashtag on IG, you are able to see how many posts have been made with that hashtag and this can help you gauge if it is valuable use or not. If you’re a smaller brand, you don’t want to only use hashtags that have millions of posts because you’ll only be drowned out by the other posts. That being said, you also don’t want to use hashtags with too little reach. Find the sweet spot in the middle and adjust until it feels fitting to your
brand. Updating your hashtags every now and then will also keep your
Ask yourself: if you were the only person who could see your account’s likes and follower numbers – would you still be posting the same content? Always remember to share the PASSION behind your brand! We promise it will make your overall relationship with social media so much better and healthier. Followers can sense an inauthentic account from a mile away – so make sure that the content you are sharing truly represents you & your brand.
